STUDY: Instagram Is Most Important To Teens

REPORT: FTC To OK Facebook-WhatsApp Deal

FarmVille 2 Lost Nearly 4M DAUs In Past Year

Poor Zynga. Once the darling of the social gaming world, the developer has been losing users for some time now, while its competitor, King.com, is on the upswing.

In March of 2013, Zynga’s biggest game was FarmVille 2. It had more than 8 million daily active users at the time, representing 2.73 percent of the Facebook application market, according to AppData. At the same time, King.com’s biggest game, Candy Crush Saga, had about 21.5 million DAUs and 7.27 percent of the market.

In one year’s time, FarmVille 2 lost nearly 4 million DAUs, dropping from No. 4 in AppData’s Power Ranking to No. 20. Meanwhile, Candy Crush Saga has held onto its No. 1 spot, gaining more than 35 million DAUs in the same time period. Candy Crush Saga now has 15.77 percent of the market, compared with FarmVille 2′s 1.15 percent.

Facebook Pressured On Political Disclosures

NorthStar Asset Management issued a rebuttal to Facebook’s guidance in its Schedule 14A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission detailing measures up for vote at its annual meeting, saying in a Form Px14a6g filing with the SEC that shareholders should vote for the resolution involving political contributions, and not against it, as the company advised.

FTC Goes After Jerk.com For Unauthorized Use Of Facebook Users’ Personal Data

2014 NCAA TOURNAMENT: 15.3M+ Facebook Users Create 46M Combined Posts, Comments, Likes

The 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship tournament came to a close Wednesday night, with the University of Connecticut’s 60-54 victory over the University of Kentucky at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and Facebook announced in a Newsroom post that the 2014 version of March Madness spawned 46 million combined posts, comments, and likes between March 16 and April 7, from more than 15.3 million users.
