We're pleased to announce our first regular event of 2012, taking place on Wednesday 18th January, at our regular venue in the Freemasons' Hall (close to Holborn, Covent Garden, Tottenham Court Road and Temple stations).
We'll have some great speakers - Bernie Hogan, a research fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute will be talking about network and networking visualisations, and Nick Jones, involved with three government organisations, will discuss their digital communications. A must-see for developers, Iskandar Najmuddin from Syncapse will get us up to date with the latest Facebook platform updates since our last event in November.
Our chairman Todd will give a talk on developing Facebook Timeline applications, Freelance developer Dave Nattriss will cover the hottest apps and pages on Facebook, and starting everything off, as our host for the evening Todd will give us a quick update on general Facebook news.
We’ll have a new ‘show and share’ section later on where you can give a quick talk/demo about whatever you’ve been working on - just sign up on the board at the front of the talk room to share anything Facebook or social media related with our audience tonight. You can talk for up to two minutes, and can show slides from your computer if you’ve got a VGA connection, or use a browser on ours.
Our events often sell out within days, so be quick to buy your ticket(s). We'll have beer, wine, juice and pizza, possibly some Facebook swag, and will go for after-drinks at O'Neills across the road for those that want to wind down afterwards.
Tickets are available at http://fdgljanuary2012-websiteeventdescription.eventbrite.co.uk - you must buy in advance to guarantee entry on the night. Earlybird tickets are available until Friday before the event, subject to quota.
If you miss out on or can't make this one, we look forward to seeing you at our next event, taking place in mid-February 2012.
As always we are grateful for the sponsorship of our events - thanks to our regular sponsors Accel Partners, Gamaroff Digital, Adknowledge and Syncapse, and our media partner Keyone Productions. If your organisation is interested in sponsoring us, please contact us for more information.

Freemasons’ Hall is the headquarters of the United Grand Lodge of England and the principal meeting place for Masonic Lodges in London. Grand Lodge has been in Great Queen Street since 1775, the present Hall being the third building on the site.
Built between 1927–1932 as a memorial to the Freemasons who died in the First World War, it is one of the finest Art Deco buildings in England, and is now Grade II* listed internally and externally. In addition to the Grand Temple (seating 1700) there are 21 Lodge Rooms, a Library and Museum, Board and Committee Rooms and administrative offices. The building is fully open to the public.
Lodge Room 1 can be found by following the main central corridor from the main reception until the end, and it is on the left past the lifts.
